Studio Tour Guide
Game of Thrones Studio Tour, Banbridge: how to visit
The Studio Tour at Linen Mill Studios in Banbridge is the world's only officially licensed Warner Bros. and HBO Game of Thrones attraction. It opened in February 2022 and occupies the actual filming site for roughly a third of the series — about 100,000 square feet of original sets, costumes, props, and behind-the-scenes content. This page covers the practical details: prices, opening hours, how to get there, how long to spend, and what to expect.

If You Drive
How to visit independently
You cannot park or arrive directly at the studio. The system funnels every independent visitor through one nearby car park.
- Drive to The Boulevard, Cascum Road, Banbridge BT32 4LF. This is a shopping outlet about 10 minutes from the studio. Parking is free.
- Take the free shuttle bus. A complimentary 10 to 12 minute shuttle runs at roughly 20-minute intervals between The Boulevard and the studio entrance.
- Allow a 15-minute buffer. Aim to arrive at The Boulevard 15 minutes before your booked entry time so you do not miss the shuttle.
The studio is at BT32 3SG, but again — do not drive there. Even taxis and ride-shares deliver you to The Boulevard, not to the gate. Public transport is workable but slower: Translink Goldline coaches from Belfast Europa Buscentre to Banbridge, then a local bus or taxi to The Boulevard. For a single day trip, the Belfast coach package is usually better value than self-organised public transport.
What's Inside
The six original sets and the rest of the experience
The tour covers more than 100,000 square feet (10,000 m²) at the actual filming site. The six original sets on display are:
- The Great Hall of Winterfell, where Jon Snow was hailed "King in the North".
- Castle Black's mess hall.
- The Dragonstone map room and throne.
- The Small Council chamber of the Red Keep.
- "Beyond the Wall" with the Night King and Wun Wun.
- Braavos.
You will also see hundreds of original screen-used costumes (Sansa's wedding dress, Jon Snow's furs, Cersei's gowns), the actual Iron Throne, prop weapons including Longclaw, prosthetics and dragon eggs, the Hall of Faces (with an interactive face-projection feature), Daenerys's throne, storyboards, concept art, and behind-the-scenes footage. Interactive moments include green-screen experiences and a Dragon Ride.
Add-ons: Seven Kingdoms Afternoon Tea, the "Milk of the Dragon" cocktail, themed Breakfast packages, Longmeadow Cider combi-tickets, and themed House Passes (Stark, Lannister, Targaryen, etc.). The on-site Mess Hall restaurant and Lobby Café cover food. The retail store is the world's largest official Game of Thrones shop.
Honest Assessment
Worth it for casual fans?
Generally yes. Reviewers who had never seen the show came away impressed by the craftsmanship of the costumes, the scale of the sets, and the production-side material (animatronics, prosthetics, dragon model work). However, several caveats are worth knowing:
- Specific costumes and props land harder if you know the plot. Without that, you may miss why a particular dress or sword matters emotionally.
- Children under about 8 often get bored. Kids' tickets exist (~$6) but the experience is built around the show's adult themes.
- It is not the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London (Harry Potter). The concept is similar and Warner Bros. is involved in both, but this attraction is smaller. Plan on 2.5 to 3 hours rather than the half-day many people spend at Leavesden.
- The whole experience is indoor and self-guided. That makes it the best rainy-day activity in Northern Ireland and a sensible choice if a coastal day looks washed out.
An audio guide app is available with translations in French, Spanish, Italian, German, and Mandarin.

FAQ
Studio Tour questions
How much is the Game of Thrones Studio Tour?
Standard adult admission is approximately $37 USD (the studio's published rate is £29.50). The Belfast coach package, which includes return transfer plus admission, is about $57 per adult. The Dublin coach package runs about $70.
How long does the Studio Tour take?
Most visitors spend 2.5 to 3 hours inside. Allow 3 to 4 hours if you want to read every panel, eat at the on-site Mess Hall, and shop. With the Belfast coach transfer added, plan on 3 to 4 hours door-to-door.
What are the opening hours?
10:00 to 18:30 daily, with last admission at 15:00. Closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day. Tours start every 20 minutes from the Visitor Centre.
Can I drive there?
Yes, but you cannot park at the studio. Park at The Boulevard, Cascum Road, Banbridge BT32 4LF and take the complimentary 10 to 12 minute shuttle. The shuttle runs every 20 minutes or so.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes, with caveats. The Studio Tour welcomes families and kids' tickets start around $6. Most coach tour operators — including Game of Thrones Tours and Brit Movie Tours — do have minimum-age rules on their day tours, but the Studio Tour itself does not. Children under 8 may get bored if they have not seen the show.
Is it the same as the Warner Bros Studio Tour London?
No. The concept is similar and Warner Bros. is involved in both, but this is a separate, smaller attraction. Allow 2.5 to 3 hours rather than the half-day people often spend at Leavesden.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes for weekends, school holidays, and any coach package. Slots can sell out. Walk-up tickets exist on quieter weekdays but are not guaranteed.
Is it worth it if I have not seen the show?
For most casual visitors, yes — the costume detail, set construction, and prosthetics work hold up as TV-craftsmanship. You will miss some Easter eggs and emotional weight, but you will not feel cheated.
